There is something about photographing kids that makes you want to hit the pause button for just a second. One minute they are tiny enough to be carried around, and the next they are running down the beach, giggling with their sisters, and growing into little people with personalities all their own.
The Evans family traveled from Texas to Maui for their first island adventure together, and with three girls in tow, we knew we had to make the most of it! Dad had visited Maui years ago, but this was the first time the rest of the family got to experience it together, which made their Ohana Session at White Rock Beach extra special.
This family was so much fun to photograph. They were happy, silly, playful, and just completely themselves. They walked along White Rock Beach, held hands, played in the sand, and of course got plenty of those sweet family photos too. But honestly, it’s the in between moments that get me. The little hands, the giggles, carrying the baby, sisters being sisters. Because those are the things that change before you even realize it. They won’t always be this little, and you’ll never regret having too many photos of them.
I love that the Evans family makes taking photos part of their family memories and vacations. Years from now, these photos won’t just remind them that they were in Maui. They’ll remember what their girls looked like, how little they were, and what it felt like to have everyone together like this. And that is exactly why I love what I do.
Thank you so much, Evans family, for choosing me to capture this little piece of your Maui adventure and this sweet season of your family!
